What are Men’s Fragrance Oils?

Men’s fragrance oils  refer to the oils created with ingredients that ooze masculine traits and are more likely to appeal to men.

Fragrances are classified into multiple categories, and two common ones are men and women, depending on accords. Floral, soft, delicate accords are most suitable for women, whereas men usually prefer dark, deep, woody, musky, spicy accords.

Ingredients in Men’s Fragrance Oils

Men are usually drawn to heavier and deeper scents. As you can notice, most scents marketed as ‘masculine’ or ‘manly’ often contain ingredients such as:

  • Cedarwood. An aromatic timber obtained from true cedar trees (Cedrus family) and related juniper or cypress trees. It is usually found in the Himalayas and the Mediterranean. As found in our Amwaj.

  • Sandalwood. Another manly ingredient is also found in our Amwaj and Azzaro Wanted. It is a woody, base note known for its smooth, milky, and long-lasting aroma.

  • Vetiver. Vetiver smells earthy, woody, and dry, with distinct undertones of warm grass and smoke. It is deeply masculine and could be found in our Azzaro Wanted.

  • Patchouli. A very deep, dark, animalic scent that you can find in our Engraved.

  • Oud (Agarwood). Often found in most of the ‘masculine’ fragrances, especially at the base. It is a woody, deep, dark, and resinous scent that emerges after the base and the heart flies away, leaving this deep, refreshing aroma for a long, long time. Could be found in most of our men’s scents.

  • Black Pepper. Often sits at the top and gives the scent a more masculine touch. Find it in our Black and Silver.

  • Cardamom. Although edible, it’s usually classified as a fresh spicy note that offers a little sweetness that doesn’t make the scent sweeter but adds a subtle flavor to it. Find it at the top of our Engraved perfume oil.

  • Leather. The scent of real leather. Found in our Engraved.

  • Tobacco. An invigorating scent that feels deeply rich and earthy. It gives a mix of warm earth, dried hay, and sweet, woody undertones.

  • Musk. The musky scent that’s common in Arabian scents. Sits at the base and gives the scent a slightly sweet, earthy lasting.

  • Amber. Resinous and woody. Just grab the Amwaj, and you’ll smell the authentic amber.

How to Choose the Best Men’s Fragrance Oil?

Choosing an oil that actually fits your preferences takes more than just reading the accords and making a blind purchase. Rather, it takes trial and error.

Science has repeatedly proven the deceiving nature of our olfactory receptors. An ingredient can smell very different to two different individuals depending on their history, preferences, and even their state of mind.

Therefore, it’s essential to take time to reflect on what kind of scent you would like. Here are a few practical steps:

Pay us a visit at the shop

We are not just limited to the rectangle screen that you are looking at right now. We are a certified business with a brick-and-mortar shop at Bottle Gali, Karachi.

Come visit us and browse through our library of highly concentrated oils. It is not uncommon for a man to not be attracted to ‘manly’ scents. These are mere restrictions created by marketing companies that we, along with time, have accommodated.

Therefore, for your best interest, come say hi in person!

Test the common ingredients.

Common spices, leather, or other ubiquitous notes are often found in usual households. If you happen to find some, take a whiff and notice how you feel. For example, if you like the powerful scent of leather, you would love our Engraved.

However, if you happen to like the fresh spices, along with depth, Amwaj would be a better choice.

Buy in smaller quantities.

Firmil is a project from Musk Al Mahal. If you want to check how an oil truly smells, you can try and order an attar with similar ingredients or at least accords. An attar is, comparatively, 95–98% cheaper and helps you totally understand how the oil would smell before committing to a bigger bottle.

Why Choose Firmil?

You might wonder why you must choose Firmil from the hundreds of businesses ultimately selling the same thing. To answer this question, choosing Firmil has its perks, such as:

Authentic oils

Businesses often add other diluents, carriers, or cutting agents, such as Dipropylene Glycol (DPG), Isopropyl Myristate (IPM), or Dipropylene Glycol (DPG) in such quantities that it alters the chemistry of the oil just to increase its quantity to maximize profits.

We strictly reject this practice and sell fine concentrated oils to our customers.

Almost a decade of experience

Firmil is a part of Musk Al Mahal, a non-alcoholic attar brand that has been in the market for 75 years. Over time, we have learned the market inside out. We understand the kind of scents Pakistan loves and adores. Therefore, we create oils that appeal to their olfactory receptors.

Wholesale prices

We have entered the market with a leading vision, and we WILL LEAD FOR SURE. Therefore, we have adjusted our prices for exactly that purpose. Our oils come at a wholesale price, allowing retailers to buy in colossal quantities without denting their bank accounts.

FAQS

Men’s perfume oils are much deeper, darker, and spicier than traditional women fragrances. These traits suit men and are associated with manliness.

We sell 100% pure, uncut perfume oils with zero DPG, IPM, or added diluents. You receive a thick fluid that lasts long with maximum aroma depth.

A balanced scent that isn’t too deep can be a good start to evaluate whether manly scents are for you or not. However, always consider temperature and the venue where you would go after putting on the scent.

Numerous perfume oils here, at Firmil, are derived from already established formulas that we used to compile widely popular non-alcoholic attars at Musk Al Mahal. You can test these oils by purchasing attars built from the same oil.

Not at all. Scent preference is entirely personal. The segregation was done much later in the history of scents for marketing purposes. One should always wear whatever notes suit their personal taste and skin chemistry.
